Not the outcome we were looking for. Not…At…All. Gary Sanchez hit 2 homeruns and Aaron Judge added another as the Yankees cruised past the Red Sox 6-2 to even the ALDS at 2 games apiece. David Price allowed 3 earned runs in only 1 2/3 innings and it seems his reputation of turning into a puddle during the postseason has been validated. I for one still hold out hope that he will help this team get a win this postseason but I am certainly not counting on it. My biggest issue through two ALDS games is that the Sox have averaged 3.5 runs. In particular, probably MVP Mookie Betts is batting .143 and hasn’t recorded a hit when the Red Sox have not been leading. He’ll need to turn it around, that’s for sure. For a team that relies on a prolific offense to win games that will not cut it. If the offense doesn’t turn it around in the next two games I’m afraid that this year’s iteration of the Red Sox will be marred by the question “What if?”. Regardless of the outcome I think these next few games should be extremely entertaining!
